Chapter Meeting Chester County Meeting Flyer  Driving Directions

The next PAPPA Chapter Meeting will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 and will be hosted by Peter Navarro of Chester County. 

LOCATION: Government Services Center, 601 Westtown Road, Room 250, Chester, PA.  Directions are attached.

PARKING: There is no charge for parking and there should be ample spaces in the parking lot.

LUNCH:  Coffee and danish will be provided in the morning. Lunch will be in the building cafeteria.  Please RSVP to Peter no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th.

LOCATION: Forum Place, 555 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA.  Conference Room 9, DGS Procurement, 6th Floor, Harrisburg, PA  17101-1914

PARKING: There is a parking garage in the building and an additional one at Strawberry Square.  Cost is around $15 for the day.

LUNCH:  Coffee and donuts will be provided in the morning. There are many places to have lunch in the area including the food court at Strawberry Square, the Capital Cafeteria, the snack bar at Forum Place and numerous others within walking distance.  Please RSVP to Ann Kimmel no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13th .

LOCATION: Conley Ward’s Steakhouse, 110 S. West St, Wilmington, DE.    Directions are on their website at www.conleywardssteakhouse.com.

LUNCH:  Danish and coffee will be served in the morning.   The menu selection will be a) Atlantic Salmon w/ vegetable of the day, b) Meatloaf Platter w/mashed potatoes and gravy or c) Chicken Cordon Blue w/vegetable of the day.  All entrée’s will be served with salad and dessert.  Price is $16.00.

Chapter Meeting

The next PAPPA Chapter Meeting will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007 and will be hosted by the County of Berks in Reading.

LOCATION: County of Berks, Services Center, Commissioner’s Board Room, 13th Floor, 633 Court Street, Reading, PA. 19601.  The Services Center is the most recently constructed building with a large glass façade.

PARKING:  Parking is available through the Reading Parking Authority.  The lot closest to the facility is Penn & Court Street Garage, with an entrance on Court Street.   The Courthouse and Services Center are directly across from the entrance of the garage.

LUNCH:  Outside In Restaurant (see attached form) – Your lunch selection must contain the following information:  1) Type of Boxed Lunch, 2) Type of Deli Sandwich, 3) Select the type of cheese and type of bread, 4) select a beverage (Coke and Pepsi products, ice tea and bottled water).  Please fax your order to Tina Nawrocki at 610-478-6206 by Wednesday, July 11th.  (see attachment for box lunch MENU emailed with meeting announcement to PAPPA members.)

SPEAKERS: Scott Helm and Gib Armstrong of American Powernet will be providing an update on energy/utility related topics, i.e. energy options, updates in the market, reduction of energy costs, recommendations related to bidding for such utilities, etc.

SPEAKER Information: Sam Adhikari

Vice President of Sysoft Corporation and a part time faculty member at Fairleigh Dickinson University Executive MBA program will provide a presentation on using a Group Decision Support System in evaluating RFPs.  The presentation is entitled "Bringing Proposal Evaluations into the 21st Century - From Excel Spreadsheets to Group Decision Support Systems" and will include a demonstration of systems that can help an organization evaluate vendor responses with many evaluators, diverse criteria, cost model and flexible evaluation process.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) FreedomCAR and Vehicle Technologies Program (FCVT),
Clean Cities contributes to the energy, environmental, and economic security of the United States by reducing
our dependence on imported petroleum. Established in 1993 in response to the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 1992,
the partnership provides tools and resources for voluntary, community-based programs to reduce consumption of
petroleum-based fuels.

The program provides a variety of assistance including the following;

  • Provide access to information and grants from DOE, other federal agencies and industry partners that can fund significant, high impact projects.
  • Provides a large collection of technical data and information, including current data on fuels, fueling station and truck stop electrification locations, infrastructure development, state and federal incentives, laws, technical and outreach publications and industry resources.
