Our PA Public Purchasing Association Chapter meeting, held in Whitehall PA, was called to order by President Barry Hitchcock.
Attending were Angela Marino, Scott Brodt, Diane McKenzie, City of Allentown; Hanna Price, Bob Dopira, Montgomery County; Mary Jo Reed, City of Bethlehem; Ann Wertman, George Nader, Lehigh County; Judy Cole, South Whitehall Township; Mary Ann Ramey, Whitehall Township; Hope Potter, L3P/PA League of Cities & Municipalities; Chris Parnau, Bill Irish, Northampton County; Price Morris, Lancaster City Housing Authority; Rich Grimm, NIGP; Greta Iplenski, Delaware State Police; April Lenhart, Renee Carpenter, Berks County; Barry Hitchcock, Lancaster County; Tina Wildonger and Maureen Mcllvaine, Bucks County. The minutes from our June 19, 2000 meeting were read. A Motion to accept the June 19 meeting minutes was made by Hanna Price, Second by Diane McKenzie and approved by those present.

2000-2001 Chapter Dues- many dues payments have been received, any unpaid members will be sent a second notice.
The Chapter has applied for and received an Employer Identification Number from the IRS; our EIN number is #23-3048881. The IRS Notice of EIN Assignment will be given to Diane McKenzie to include in the Operations Guide.
The Chapter has sent an application to the IRS for Tax Exempt Status and on September 13. We received acknowledgement of the IRS receiving our application, we should expect to hear from them in 120 days.
A motion to accept the Treasurer's Report was made by Mary Jo Reed, Second by Judy Cole and approved by those present.

Membership Committee-
George Nader reported the Chapter has two new members- Nancy Spencer from the Career Institute of Technology and April Lenhart from the County of Berks. This brings the total members up to 44.
Operations Guide Committee-No report given.
Awards Committee-No report given.
Nominating Committee- Diane McKenzie presented the following slate of candidates for the term:
President- Mary Ann Ramey, Whitehall Township
First Vice-President- George Nader, Lehigh County
Second Vice-President- Maureen Wilson Mcllvaine, Bucks County
Secretary- Angela Marino, City of Allentown
Treasurer- Scott Brodt, City of Allentown
If any member is interested in being considered for one of these offices then must contact Diane McKenzie by October 15, 2000. Officers will be voted on at the next Chapter Meeting.
By-Laws Committee
Diane McKenzie distributed a draft of the revised By-Laws to those members present. A discussion was held and several changes were suggested. The By-Laws Committee will review the suggested changes and Diane will e-mail the latest revisions to all members with an e-mail address. Any suggested changes must be to Diane by October 15 so she can make any needed changes. The Chapter will vote on the new By-Laws at the next meeting.
Old Business:
The NIGP National Forum was held in Baltimore MD, August 18-23, 2000
All Chapter members who attended the National Forum are asked to send Angela Marino a list of the seminar's you have information from. Angela will compile a list of the seminar information with the contact person's name; Chapter members will be able to contact that person for a copy of the seminar information.
The 2001 National Forum will be held in Columbus OH on August 18-23. The Columbus chapter has asked each of the neighboring states to host an event at the Forum. One suggestion was to hand out items that are made in PA, like Crayola Crayons, Tastykakes, Hershey's chocolate, etc. If you have any ideas on how or what our Chapter could do, please contact Mary Ann Ramey.
The PA Department of General Services is hosting a State Conference on October 17-20 in Split Rock. Many of the PA State Contract vendors will be there, for more information look on their web site: www.das.Da.state
New Business:
Barry Hitchcock recognized and congratulated Chapter members George Nader from Lehigh County and Maureen Wilson Mcllvaine from Bucks County for receiving their Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) Certification.
Hope Potter announced that L3P would be holding their annual conference on May 8, 2001 at the Days Inn in State College.
A Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mary Jo Reed, Second by Judy Cole and approved by those present.
